it's the last Sunday in the recording + mixing + mastering process. The culmination of 5 weekends of laying tracks, listening back, grimacing at vocals and then lovingly realizing they are just right. We do everything lovingly in this band.
I'm getting accustomed to the other sounds in this studio (Tom Herber's Third Ear Recording in Minneapolis, MN) like the whirr of the tape, hum of the many computers, the bubbler in the fish tank...he has a blowfish! I even like having chilly feet today. To sum up the atmosphere in here is killer.
We've drained at least a case of wine, I've read the autobiography of Blondie twice and the foreward of an excellent guide to everyday success called Winning Through Intimidation (can't wait to test what I've learned...isn't that the Turtle Lake casino turtle?). It's sounding great...fully fleshed out and mixing down nicely. Looking forward to sharing the spoils.
